Design Rooted in the Dolomites
Designed by Studio Marincola Architects, The First Cortina brings a refined new vision of Alpine luxury to the heart of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Throughout the hotel, architecture and interior design come together in constant dialogue with the surrounding Dolomite landscape, creating a hotel that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to its mountain setting.
The design reinterprets the language of traditional Alpine architecture through a sophisticated modern lens. Warm natural materials, including larch wood, Dolomite stone, marble, leather, velvet and burnished metals, define interiors that feel tactile, elegant and quietly immersive. Each space is enhanced by considered lighting, creating a sense of atmosphere that shifts naturally from day to evening.
At the heart of the hotel, the monumental lobby offers a striking first impression. Architectural strength, rich materials and contemporary intimacy come together to create an immediate sense of arrival, setting the tone for a stay shaped by comfort, design and the quiet drama of the mountains.
Throughout the hotel, lounges, social spaces and guest areas are conceived as a seamless sequence of experiences. Each environment has been carefully composed to express a timeless aesthetic, where local identity, international style and the natural beauty of Cortina meet in balance.
