Tumpek Kandang
September 5
Tumpek Kandang is a sacred day in Balinese culture dedicated to expressing respect and gratitude toward animals, particularly livestock and household pets. This ceremony highlights the important role animals play in everyday life—whether as working companions like cows in the fields, sources of food like chickens, or guardians such as dogs. On this day, especially on farms and in rural areas, farmers perform rituals and prayers not only for their animals but also for their farming tools and storage barns (lumbung).
Taman Ayun Barong Festival
September 4 – 6
Held at the historic Taman Ayun Temple, the festival celebrates Balinese Barong traditions, with the Barong Competition as its main highlight. The event also features cultural workshops, talks, food heritage, and cultural exhibitions, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into Balinese culture.

Nyepi Segara (Sea Silence Day)
September 27
A traditional day of silence is observed in Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan to honour the sea and Dewa Baruna. All marine activities and boat transportation are suspended for the day.
Purnama (Full Moon)

During Purnama, the monthly holy day of the full moon, Balinese Hindus present ceremonial offerings in accordance with their local village traditions. Many temples also hold ceremonies or piodalan on this day, as it is considered an auspicious time for starting new ventures.
